My first job was working as a make-up artist in my mom's cosmetic shop, which was located in "the dead mall" across the street from the mega-mall, where everyone respectable went to shop. The only folks who ventured into the dead mall were those with bizarre fetishes they wanted to try out in "public" without actually being too far out into the public sphere. My four hour shift was often punctuated with high school principals and construction workers in drag, trying out the new high heels they just scored at Payless; a 60 yr. old woman dressed as a naughty school girl being led around on a leash by her husband; your occasional flasher; foot fetish guy who would creepily make me show him the colors of "toenail" polish we carried and on & on...
Anyway, it appears that Vox is now the dead mall. Of course, I'm sure there are still many "respectable" folks on here...but more so, there are a lot just letting their freak flag fly. And I love it. You are my people and I'm happy to be back. But don't send me pictures of your penis. Thanks.
Are you prepared in case of a natural disaster? What do your plan and preparations include?
Not really, but I guess I should start reading this book..
.. but then again I have seen a lot of Undead movies.. so I get the gist of what I need to do.. And my many hours of hands on experience of Zombie blasting by playing a lot of "Resident Evil" should also come in handy. Although I should probably pick up a Sword and a few guns. Which shouldn't be to difficult seeing on how I live in Texas.
It has been a long time. In the past two years I have...
- Gotten pregnant
- Gotten laid off from the start-up that was driving me crazy
- Had a miscarriage
- Had a spiritual moment in a church in the Dominican Republic
- Had my gall bladder removed
- Gotten pregnant again
- Started contract work for the start-up that laid me off
- Had a healthy baby boy on Christmas Day 2008 (nearly a month early)
- Finally become me again
- Started my own online marketing company
- Decided to start writing again
I'm back. No pressure on myself. I just like to write so I'm going to do so.
So I'm giving up on watching T.V.. Well almost.. what I mean is I'm giving up watching all regular/cable "shows" (Heroes, Dexter, and so on..) on my Television at home for the foreseeable future. No, this does not include DVDs and Video Games. Yes, this includes Sporting Events. And yes.. I to am wondering how long this will last.
..and throw the damn ball to Austin!!
First off.. it's good to be back (blogging) after having virtually no free time during the month of October. And now that the big deadline has come and gone.. I have been "busy" doing nothing for the first week of November. So now that all is pretty much back to normal in my world.. How bout them Cowboys!!! Dallas goes into Philadelphia and wins by a score of 20-16, giving Dallas a 4 game wining streak and putting them on top of the NFC East. The play (and player) of the game comes from one Miles Austin who scored the wining touchdown with his one and only 44yrd catch. Good night.
If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
Right now.. "Fight of the Conchords".. I love the silly/funny/musical world the show takes place in. They spoof just about all genres of music... including Rap. These examples are Classic. Enjoy.
If you could be any age again for one week, what age would you be?
It would have to be 21.. for the obvious reasons of course.
Lets start with the BAD shall we.. the long hours are catching up to me... I'm having trouble concentrating, I have a supper-massive headache and some discomfort with my eyes.. most likely due to the extended wearing of my contacts. And I was informed early today that the company I work for can no longer employ any more contractors.. which is what I am.. or what I was..
So management has made me a "full time" employee.. benefits and all, so I still have a job. And once Nov 1st comes around.. work hours (and what little life I have) should all go back to normal. This is GOOD.
The SERENITY.. well.. I just bought one.
